Cannot use internet and such.. using Iphone 3G OS 3.0 unlocked/jailbroken

hi, im very new to the iphone scene, and i actually just got my unlocked/jailbroken iphone 3G OS 3.0 today.. once i recieved it, i placed my t-mobile SIM card into it, and the iphone recognized it instantly.. i have successfully made calls and sent texts, so my network is working.. but, before this Iphone, i have been using my sidekick LX with an unlimited sidekick plan.. can someone please explain to me why and what to do about why my internet is not working..( when i try using the internet it makes me try to use wifi, which still doesnt work) any help will be greatly appreciated as i am a noob at iphones, thx =]

not sure what your problem is mate..is your wifi on? can u check it in settings and let me know..
