Default Still cant get my new 3G iphone working.

Hey,
I just got a new 3G 16g iphone. It didnt come with a sim card. I am trying to unlock/jailbreak it so i can use my existing telstra prepaid sim card. I have upgraded to 2.2.1 (5H11) through itunes and then downloaded and ran \QuickPwn-225-2 using the iPhone1,2_2.2.1_5H11_Restore firmware when prompted.
The programme completed and prompted me to activate the iphone through itunes, wich i did, and submitted my details including the phone number on the prepaid sim card when prompted. This precess also completed without problems.
After all of this, i now have what seems to be all of the icons
and function options operating, but still do not have any signal and cannot use the phone to send or recieve any calls or sms.
Now, i'm no IT guru, and dont know much about this kinda stuff, but i think ive done everything thats listed on these forums, twice, to no avail....whats going on? Ive been trying to get this thing working since 9pm last night, non stop, i'm just about over it....
Can anyone point me in the right direction with resolving this extremely frustrating problem before i sell the ibrick and use the cash to buy a gun and put myself out of this mysery?

hi Driller1,
I think it's because of your iPhone firmware 2.2.1....what's your baseband version btw?
