iphone 3g doesn't have any sound when making calls

Hi guys, I desperately need help for my iphone 3G. It doesn't make any sound when i make calls. The ear speaker as well as the speaker don't work. Despite that, I still can listen to songs using the phone speaker. I have tried to restore it but it doesn't work. Please help me..

I had exactly the same problem the other day..I ended up making 4 calls coz I couldn't hear a thing...all I did to fix it was I restarted the iPhone and it fixed itself...no clue what the issue is though...if it continues then I would suggest to call Apple...

could u tell me how u restart it? is it just simply switching it off and on again? or do i need to do something else?

No, I did a complete restart...I use BossPrefs to restart my iPhone..it seems to does the job nicely and properly...is you iPhone Jailbroken? If so then install this app from Cydia and restart it through that..

Let me know if yours isn't jailbroken, I'll tell you how to restart it manually..but again I prefer usingn BossPrefs.

I am not sure whether mine is jailbroken or not. but i do have cydia and installer. so what i have to do is installing the BossPrefs isn't it? i'll get once i've tried it. thanks anyway.

Sorry for the late reply mate...all you've to do now is, open BossPrefs then click on Power at the bottom of the screen then click on Reboot on the next screen and wait for iPhone to be restarted...

yeah, i've tried it and there's still no sound... is there any other way?

Its so weird as i still can make any calls but i cannot hear any sound but the receiver can hear clearly what i said..is it possible to call using other way?

I just realised the cause of the problem and i thought its happened when i was listening to the ipod in my iphone, someone called me and then i quickly pull out the earphone and from there i got this problem..

please help me..since then, i could not make any call as i cannot hear the receiver talking even i could not check for my credit balance...

Does your iPhone work fine without the headphone or still the same? Either way, I think you should send it back to Apple and they sure will fix it for you. Otherwise, fixing it from outside may cost you a lot..
